5 days' worth of food left. No cornucopia, but enough. Even enough to mess up and try again.

Medium sized ship, looks like a freighter. No ack, no identifiable markings. Hull's blackened.

Yesu, I just saw what think was the bridge. Or the Cargo Hold. Whatever it was, it's mushroomed like a blown out barrel.
Two humanoid forms, and estimated maybe two dozen or so strip serverstacks spilling out from the ex-bridge. Kneejerk theory; maybe some offsite physical data storage? Hard data transport? It'll whisper nothing to me anyways, strips spoil in vaccuum.
Secured myself, quad anchors. Bulkhead to the main deck dead, engaging drill.

Found the actual bridge. Half the tech's been stripped, was the thing scuttled? No bodies here, looks like everything worth something was ripped off. Poor thing's brains are all over the floor. Can't see any corp markings either; there's certs from Baleven's shell corps but I'm 80% sure they only churned out the thing, didn't actually use it as strip storage or whatever this thing was meant to do, by whomever.
Blackbox is gone, colour me surprised.
Yesu, it uses E-sockets. Gonna pull every remaining one and zero out - okay, we've got a tracker on another ship, if it's a derelict salvaging it would be a good choice. Outdated toll passes with conflicting reg codes; a starmap with more detail than on mine; and the tail end of a travel manifest, probably an autobackup they forgot to check while they were wiping all the other data clean. Oh, and door controls. Nothing on corp or captain, but that was half expected.

Starboard wing, crew quarters. Personal effects deemed not important enough to carry along during the scuttle. Sure, the picture frames, printed mugs, and that Naccerboard set will be worth something on market, but tally in the freight weight it's not a net profit. Hey, this way I get to tell myself I'm leaving the stuff there in respect for the old crew.

This is the last room, crew rec according to the door sign.
By the look of things, entertainment wasn't worth the repo cost during the scuttle. There's some decent stuff here- damn, those are Vinyls I'm pretty sure. Yesu. Analogue allure I never understood. Others do though, and not starving I do understand. Toys of a better time. None of the titles or artists mean much to me, except for Nescar Nil. Blast, I remember Nescar Nil from my dad's radio. People of a better time. I pick out a dozen of the newest looking vinyls. Sorry Nescar, you didn't make the cut.

God, I wonder how many darkpoints the corps have floating about in the middle of nowhere. Knuckle-rappable stacks upon stacks of hard data, by strip or plate or dot.
The watchmen jobs probably pay handsomely, but if something happens out here, that's that. Mushroomed hull or something less dramatic; by the time the managers get your distress call they'll be picking you up in bodybags, if they pick you up at all.
That's what I think happened here anyways. Accident happened; they couldn't carry everything back home so they stripped it and left it to lie still for eternity.
Eternity can't stop me though, I have a good feeling about these Vinyls. Yesu, I can't help but laugh every time I even just look at them. Analogue allure.
Off to Fal'ekay, coordinates and log transmitted to Nachadun.

Roughly 5 more jumps' worth of fuel left.

Got lucky from the coords from the Darkpoint ship. The Fal'ekay is exactly where it was reported to be, and she's a big girl, hammerhead looking. It's whale like - some dormant thing sleeping among scraps in the middle of nowhere.
No ack, but the name's printed big and proud along the body. Don't think there's an obvious way in, gonna dock at the stern gates.

Boarded without issue.
Think this is the hold, but it's empty. Three escape pod docks here, two empty. I pulled the remaining one into the middle of the floor, see if I can crack it open.
It's pretty dinged up, which explains the manual release not working, and might also explain why it never launched. A crowbar s- Yesu, what if there's a body in there? I guess we'll find out.
No body, but seems to be electronics, servo motors, hydraulic bits. Only valuable thing seems to be the handful of computing cores. I can't tell what make they are, but they seem sellable enough.
Bulkhead doors aren't working, engaging drill to the central hull area.

Almost untouched crew quarters, storage and life support combo. Rations seem edible, so they're coming with me. Lots of miscellany I'm not going to bother with; but I'll take the best tools, jumpsuits and sundries. Judging by the arrangement of things I don't think this crew was civil or corp military, it's a bit too lived in.
Life support seems to be working fine, why'd they abandon ship? Someone was trying to haul off tech; but away from whom or what?
Oh Yesu, rethinking the corp military angle. There's an empty gun rack, and hidden away there's 4 GL-18s tucked away in cases on the bottom storage shelf. Yeah, as suspected, Cienfuegos Armory.
Hell if I know every corp rentacop ship has anti-vehicular arms at hand - a bit of side business smuggling, maybe?
Whatever the prior purpose, their long line of ownership continues: with me. They sell well, extremely well, but might keep one for myself. You never know.
Moving on, will check the door closest to the central axis. Engaging drill.

I think this was the engine and mechanics room. The main reactor's here,- well, radiation leak. Explains some things. I don't have a suit or meds; not going any deeper in. I'll take leaving some picking behind instead of getting cancer, thanks.

On the other wing sits a medbay, much larger than usual for a crew of this size. Corp medical ship maybe? Mobile hospital? Again, everything looks undisturbed. Getting tingles. There's not much here either; there's an autodoc but the main processor's been taken out; there's gels and medicines but everything's expired. Don't know what's safe to use that's expired.
There's a set of autodoc routine cassettes but I'm not hopeful they're worth much. Taking them anyways.

Hell, this wreck is too large. Never understood launching skyscrapers into space. Those things never could trick you into thinking you were on terra firma. The bigger the frame, the more it felt like the void would consume you, wrathful at man for daring to trek into her darkness.

Sticking to the mobile hospital theory. The three decks here I think were manufacturing medicine and chems, almost entirely automated but quiet now. At least the stuff I find here seem valuable. Tetramethadome, entradine, cytolaximic acid tablets, lithium pills.
Preptide too.
There's a lot more than I expect, but I think I've taken all the valuable product. There's a few batches of raw material on the last deck, all hooked up into pipes and machines and they've got too many warning labels all over. Leaving them there, I'm happy with what I've found.
There's more than enough to make the trip worth it, but gonna sweep the whole ship. Don't feel right otherwise.

Bridge. The computers still work.
As suspected, this was a mobile hospital for the auxillary paramilitary forces for Triton-Lukka, which when looking at the rotating hull for artificial gravity makes perfect sense. Nevertheless it was commandeered by Obrist rebels sometime near the start of its intended service life. This explains the narcotics manufacturing. They still used it as a hospital and medicine factory though, just a factory that also makes speed and chems on the side.
No answer on why it was abandoned - most of the logs except for the basic data was wiped.
Time to go, nothing left for me here.
A good haul, but need to sell the meds before they turn bad. And need to find someone to sell the speed to.

Will travel back to port to shift the meds. Not sure where to next.
Whatever did happen to the Obrists? There were always rumours, but last I remembered they just petered out.
Glad to leave the Fal'ekay regardless. Hate these big ships.
