Licorice Pizza - a very well made, brilliantly acted slice of life/romance/drama, infused with Americana of the '70s through-and-through imo there's a concurrent thesis of how our environment of development shapes who we are but too hungover rn to say add.: really conflicted about whether to give this A or B but imo, films like this are a rarity and like, i can't shake the feeling there's so, so much more to this movie than on the surface |

regrettably an extremely cut and dry childrens film, honestly a smidge above unremarkable at best. there could've been so much to tempest, and imo the plot could even fit into a usual twoparter like Season Beginnings/Finales or even just a normal episode Gosh and so many folks missing; Discord (literal realityshaper who iirc has been willing to interfere before), queen chrysalis and thorax and their folks, glimmer and trixie, yaks, griffins, and the Starswirl Squad, dragons, or heck even sombra or Sunset (no im not biased) and the highschool AU it works completely fine for what it's meant to be, i suppose; a moneymaker. sadly not much to say, nor particularly noteworthy overall |
